A church for people who don't go to church

Experiencing church can sometimes be a bit like Italian opera.

You know something good is happening but you're not really sure what!

We think the message of Christianity, of Jesus Christ, is much too important to be hidden by anything.

As you'll see from our logo, we think that church is not a building but people, people who aim to live their lives with Jesus Christ as their God and Saviour. And so Christ Church Central is people, people who aim to make the message of Jesus, and the teaching of the Bible, accessible, understandable, relevant and available to everyone. In fact, we hope to start more churches in Sheffield that are for people who don't go to church.

We hope you'll notice, as you peruse our web site, how we seek to work this out in practice across Sheffield city centre, from the way we run our Sunday meetings and small groups through to our work among students, international friends and our work amongst the homeless. As we do all these things our desire is to honour God and encourage one another in a caring and hospitable Christian family that's always seeking to welcome others. Maybe that's you.
